TANZANIA Kasirwa, 01 August - 30 November 2015

"Training Center in Kasirwa"

Our member Martina Rubino organized an International building workshop together with NKA Foundation and in cooperation with Orbe-Smith Design.

Kasirwa is a small extremely poor rural village at the foot of Kilimanjaro Mountain, still disconnected from electrical and water supply, relying entirely on agriculture and farming.

The Training Center will host workshops and training courses for the people of the village. Through research, studies and collaboration with the local community a prototype was created which offers a model of sustainable design in the region. The project has been developed alongside craftsmen, builders and people from the village, learning from their construction methods and techniques while also sharing our own ideas with them and encouraging local sustainable practices.
